It is my pleasure to present to you the winner of RCM National Gold Medal, Maxwell Gao, for attaining the highest score in Canada for Grade 9 Piano in 2020. This is an achievement of the highest level and recognizes the extraordinary efforts put in by a young talented musician over many years. As Maxwell’s piano teacher, I am proud to be a part of his journey and to witness his tremendous growth, not only in skills but also in character. Maxwell, please enjoy this moment of success, and know that this is only the beginning for you – both as a musician and as a person – of many more great things to come!
